Last night was a massacre, a complete display of domination by the clearly better team…for the first half, anyway. If games were only played in the second quarter, I would bet all of the money I have on the Eagles going 17-0. An interesting statistic I just found is that the 112 points the Eagles have scored so far this season in the second quarter alone is more than eleven NFL teams scored all of last season. That’s insane, and if we do a better job of protecting our leads after halftime, we’ll be able to match up with anybody.
Predictably, the media narrative isn’t about how the Eagles won, but how the Cowboys lost. The “fight” they had after going down big convinced the “journalists” paid to keep Dallas fans watching and reading their drivel that if the the Cowboys only had a healthy Dak Prescott, they absolutely would have beaten us last night. And, get this, with a healthy Dak, the Cowboys are Super Bowl contenders, as they’ve been every offseason for the last 27 years that have involved, get this, zero Super Bowl appearances! I’m sure when they go out in the first round again (assuming they make the playoffs at all as the third best team in the division), the media will have them as Super Bowl contenders again going into next year. Meanwhile, I’ll continue watching our actual Super Bowl contender nobody is talking about.
