PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - APRIL 18: Tyrese Maxey #0 and James Harden #1 of the Philadelphia 76ers talk during the first quarter against the Toronto Raptors in Game Two of the Eastern Conference First Round at Wells Fargo Center on April 18, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers will play Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics tonight in the NBA season opener. With the Celtics coming off of a run to the NBA Finals, they’ll be a formidable opponent in TD Garden, but I still think we’ll take care of business. Embiid has struggled against Al Horford in the past, but the man is 36 now. He’ll have to slow down eventually, and while LeBron James is still spry at 37, Al Horford is not LeBron James. I know, super hot take, but I’m sticking with it. With Robert Williams III out, the Celtics simply don’t have enough to stop Embiid, so I see him scoring 30 as the Sixers spoil opening night for Boston’s spoiled fans.

Prediction: Sixers 96-Celtics 89
