After about a week from the Sixers collapse, I thought about what I would write about next. The Union? Nah. The Phillies? Lol. Instead, I’ll write about the team that ended our season and that made it clear in the following days that letting go of Glenn was the right decision: the Boston Celtics. Despite a massive talent advantage over the Miami Heat, the Celtics trail 2-0 in their series heading into Miami after getting horribly outcoached for the second time these playoffs. I do think Joe Mazzulla (somehow) outcoached Glenn Rivers in Boston’s series against Philadelphia, but James Harden going off twice kept the series from ending earlier than it would have otherwise.

Despite ending the season as a 7 seed and entering the playoffs as an 8 seed after losing their play-in game to the Atlanta Hawks, the Heat have looked like the best team in the East in these playoffs. That’s despite missing one of their top scorers in Tyler Herro and one of their top bench players in Victor Oladipo for much of the playoffs. Their coaching and experience has made up for their talent deficiencies, which is why they’re currently 2 wins away from the NBA Finals. I’ll always root for Jimmy Butler, who was perfect for the city of Philadelphia and who the Sixers organization should have done whatever possible to keep here. Since we have no chance of winning it all this year, I certainly wouldn’t mind watching Jimmy do it instead.
