And we’re back! I’ll start where I started last time, at the beginning of the 2023 playoffs.

We trade with Brooklyn next. Went great for us last time, so why not?
This is the trade we end up doing. Though I’m not super happy with it, I can live with it. Mikal Bridges is a nice piece, and Harris and O’Neale should be valuable bench pieces for us. After the trade, this is our roster:

So, we weren’t quite as good as we were after the Atlanta trade. Mikal Bridges has frankly been a disappointment in his return to Philly. Our big three did what they needed to do to get us our 50 wins, but we still should have done better with a team that was mostly healthy all year. We had the second-best offense in the league again, thanks in part to the shooting we got from our trade with Brooklyn, but the defense crated, finishing 21st. That three-guard starting lineup didn’t work, and I’m going to make sure Paul Reed gets the minutes he deserves in the playoffs.
Our new lineup got us a tough win over Milwaukee to set up an easier win against Cleveland for our first appearance in the conference finals since ’01, but then Boston humiliated us again, making the trade a failure. I don’t expect us to win the championship every time, but if we play the Celts, we gotta take them down. Maybe tomorrow.
