Just four days after our season opener, we’re back on the field, playing the Minnesota Vikings in our first home game of the year. We have some players out in safety Reed Blankenship, cornerback James Bradberry, and running back Kenneth Gainwell, and maybe one or all of them would be playing if it were a Sunday game and our opponent was a bit better, but it is what it is. Linebacker Nakobe Dean is on IR, so we won’t see him for at least three more weeks after this one. Vegas has us as a 6 point favorite against the Vikings, and even with our injuries, I don’t think we’ll struggle to win by a touchdown or more against a team that looked bad against the Buccaneers and are coming off the same short week as us. Justin Jefferson is just as terrifying as last year, and I know Kirk Cousins well enough by now to know that he could go off any week, but with Dalvin Cook on the Jets now, they have no run game to speak of, and even with Cook, they were unable to get going against our bad run defense when we played them last season. I expect us to be 2-0 when we play the Bucs ourselves later this month, and I expect us to have a good chance against them as well with what will hopefully be a healthier roster.
