I haven’t talked much about baseball this year, but the Phillies are currently on a tear, and they’ve continued an undefeated start to the playoffs with their first game against the Braves in Truist Park. The game ended with a score of 3-0 in favor of the good guys. Bryce Harper scored the first two runs for the Phillies in the fourth inning by drawing a walk and advancing to second when Spencer Strider threw away a pickoff. He then scored on Bryson Stott’s two-out, two-strike single. In the sixth inning, Harper launched a missile of a solo home run. It left his bat at 115 mph. The Braves, who tied the major league record with 307 homers during the regular season and averaged more than 5.8 runs per game, couldn’t muster anything against a parade of hard-throwing Philadelphia relievers. It was just the third time all year — and first since May 12 — that Atlanta failed to score a run. It was the first time they were shut out at home all season, and if we can get another win tomorrow, we’ll have a chance to wrap the series up on Wednesday.
