So, I thought we’d be playing again today, but since the NFL hates us, the Eagles don’t play again until Monday night, meaning it will be an 11 day gap between our win over the Vikings and our upcoming game against Tampa Bay. While I prefer that for our players over the four-day gap between our season opener and our next game, I do not prefer it for myself, a person who loves watching the Eagles and hates every consecutive day that goes by without a chance to watch the Eagles.
Still, it’s only one more day, so I’ll power through this.
Right now, the Eagles are a consensus 4.5 point favorite over the Buccaneers, according to Vegas Insider. We opened as 6.5 point favorites, so it’s clear the bettors aren’t feeling us, and that’s their loss, because I would have had the Eagles covering at 6.5 and I’ll definitely have them covering at 4.5. With losses by Washington and Dallas today, we’ll take sole possession of first place in the NFC East with a win tomorrow, and that’s something I know our guys will take seriously. No matter what happens, though, I’ll just be happy to be watching them again. It’s been way too long.
