After fighting for three quarters, the Sixers managed to take a 2 point lead into the fourth quarter against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. In their first game of the season, playing against their biggest rival in their home stadium, the Phillies shut the Braves out for six innings and took a 2-0 lead into the seventh. Did either of these teams win? Well, you see the title of this blog post, so you can probably guess.
With their loss to the Cavs, their third straight and second straight by four or fewer points. the Sixers remain in eighth place in the Eastern conference, and it’s becoming harder and harder to imagine them avoiding the play-in. The loss to the Braves didn’t turn out to be nearly that close, as the Phillies bullpen gave up two runs in the seventh inning and seven (!!!) in the eighth inning, turning our 2-0 lead two-thirds into the game into a 9-3 loss. I am dead inside.
