I haven’t talked much about the Sixers lately due to what the Eagles have been doing in the playoffs, but we just picked up a big win over the team with the second best record in the NBA, and Embiid just picked up a critical head-to-head win over the two-time reigning (not my) MVP Nikola Jokic. I want a championship more than anything, but if we don’t end up hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy, I want Embiid to at the very least finally be able to convince the voters who have been using “advanced stats” to deny him recognition for his efforts to finally change their tune. It’s still an uphill battle, as we learned this week that Embiid wasn’t even voted an All-Star starter, but I believe the rest of the world will know what the people of Philadelphia have known for years: Joel Embiid is the best player in the NBA.

Going back to the Eagles, I still feel confident that we’ll beat San Francisco and clinch a spot in the Super Bowl tomorrow, but I feel less confident about the Chiefs-Bengals game. I probably won’t make my picks until the very last second for that game, and I won’t be surprised if it goes the other way. I learned the hard way not to bet against Joe Burrow last week, but we’re going on half a decade of learning not to bet against Patrick Mahomes, either. I’m sure I’ll settle on a team eventually, but it has been a tough decision to make.
