Though our season doesn’t begin for five more days, Phillies fans have already experienced some amazing highs and depressing lows, with our big free agency signing Trea Turner showing out in the World Baseball Classic and our star 1B Rhys Hoskins tearing his ACL a few days ago, ending his season before it even got to start. With Bryce Harper already expected to miss a good amount of time due to his Tommy John surgery after our World Series run, we’ll be playing in what should be a brutal division again with two of our best players out. I expect another slow start this year, but if we can keep our heads above water until Harper returns, we should be able to get back into the playoffs even if our chances of winning the NL East have diminished a lot with these news. We still have Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and of course, Trea Turner, so I wouldn’t even say that the division is out of reach, and if the Phillies can shock the world again, no one will be happier to see it than me.
